F.L.O.W. Pastor

Jon Henry came on staff as of April 2007. He will be serving us, part-time, as our FLOW Pastor. FLOW is an acronym for Family, Layers, Organic, and Worship. (More on these areas later.)

Many of you know Jon and his wonderful family from when they lived in Park City previously. Jon has been an ordained pastor for 16 years.

He has a heart for strengthening and discipling families and he will be challenging us all to grapple with the love and grace of God found in Christ, meeting Him in scripture, great books, great movies, the great outdoors. He wants to help families develop Christ-centered growth habits (spiritual disciplines) that will set the course for the rest of their lives.

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there in their midst." - Jesus. This is the simplest definition of 'church', and Jon wants to help maximize the power of small groups (layers) and watch what God wants to do spread naturally (organic church).

"And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:1,2 (the new living translation). According to scripture Sunday mornings have little to do with 'worship', our lifestyles 24/7 have everything to do with worship. Exploring different avenues and old definitions of worship are another interest of Jons.
