Reaching
out to our neighbors and our world
Outreach
At.
St. John’s, we are committed to spreading the love of Christ
to our community, our nation, and the world. From our
inception, we have committed to allocate not less than 10
percent of the Church’s revenue to outreach activities.
We
see our Outreach ministry not just in terms of financial
contributions, but as a chance to involve our people directly
in activities and efforts that fulfill Christ’s commands to
help our less fortunate brothers and sisters and to spread His
word.

In
our short history, we have been involved in several
international disaster relief efforts addressing the immediate
needs of victims of natural disasters. We have also elected to
provide ongoing support to national and international efforts
that address systemic and ongoing issues such as world hunger.
In that regard, we have made a major commitment to several outstanding
outreach efforts.
Locally
and worldwide, we actively support:
The
Navajo Nation We take parish mission trips designed to provide basic necessities to indigent Native
Americans.
The
Heifer
Project A wonderful program designed to provide the poor
in third world countries with the means to become
self-sufficient and to feed themselves and their communities.
The
Christian Center of Park City We provide people and resources to
help the Center meet the spiritual needs of the community and
the basic needs of indigent local residents.
Habitat for Humanity
We continue to carry on a tradition or participating in local building projects
with this remarkable organization.
As
an Anglican Missionary church from Rwanda, we
also have developed relationships with two Rwandan outreach
efforts:
Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee
This organization sells the world's best Rwandan coffee and donates
funds from their sales to relief efforts in Rwanda designed to
bring economic stability and a improved living to the victims
of the 1994 genocide. These delicious coffee products are sold
fresh at the church.
Rwandan
Blessing also aids genocide victims, particularly focusing
on children orphaned in the attacks through the development of
orphanages and job and educational training.
And
we
have much larger goals. For example, we are gearing up to actively
support national and international mission activities, not
only by providing financial support to missionaries, but by
organizing more mission trips of our own. At St. John’s, we
see Outreach as a critical component of our activities today
as well as a priority for our future.
