Richard Glover

Senior Minister

Richard is our Senior Minister (Rector), leading and overseeing the mission of St John’s. He loves helping people see how the person of Jesus sheds light on our most mundane and our most complicated life issues, and believes that such issues are best discussed over a a table, with a coffee and laughter. 

Richard grew up on the South Coast of NSW and then spent the last twenty years living in Sydney’s Inner West before moving to Darlinghurst. He has degrees in history, political economy, and theology. He’s married to Alison, and they have four school-aged kids. 

Nerida Peart

Nerida Peart

Assistant Minister

Nerida is our Assistant Minister, with a focus on children’s ministry and the 5pm Service. She has worked in churches in Vancouver and in the Hills District of Sydney. She is passionate about helping people integrate their faith into their whole life, so they can live flourishing lives for Jesus. She loves teaching on vocation, work, and sabbath. 

She studied theology at Regent College, Vancouver with a minor in snowboarding at Whistler. She loves meeting people and hearing their stories. She loves the beach, reading novels and drinking coffee - sometimes all at the same time! Nerida is married to Angus and they have three wonderful children. 

Martin Robinson

Senior Associate Minister

Martin is the senior associate minister, married to Jann Robinson. He handles the parish’s nursing home and hospital ministry and brings to bear his many years of parish ministry experience as an advisor to the other clergy.

Sam Giddy

Sam Giddy

Music Minister

Sam has been serving as music minister at St John’s since 2023, after studying music at Sydney Conservatorium and theology at SMBC. He has served as an organist, pianist and church musician across several churches in Sydney (including as assistant organist at St Andrew’s Cathedral), and is passionate about the role of music in worship. 

Sam is responsible for coordinating music across all services at St John’s, as well as directing the choir and concert series. Sam is married to Wayo and they live just down the road from St John’s in Elizabeth Bay. 

Louisa Maxim

Louisa Maxim

Director of Operations

Louisa is our director of operations. She loves finding solutions to optimise church processes and develop community relationships. She serves the Community Pantry with a dedicated team of volunteers and is keen to develop the 'St Johns’ Creative Collective'.

She was born in London and has been adopted by Sydney. With a long career as a producer and facilitator, Louisa has a degree in Drama and English Literature (UK), a Bachelor of Fine Arts (UNSW), and has a fine art practice. She studied theology at the Westminster Theological Collage (WTC) UK. She has two lovely school aged children.
