Jesus famously said that he “did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45), and his entire life was an example to us in this regard. One of the ways we become more like Jesus, then, is to serve others with the time and talent that God has given to each of us. Whilst we are called to serve in every arena of our lives—in the home, the workplace, and the neighbourhood—serving in the church is a particularly joyful way to bless others and to grow spiritually.
